The Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education has announced that the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programm is inviting applications from suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans wishing to pursue UNDERGRADUATE and POSTGRADUATE Courses in Hungary under the following fields of study:
Agricultural Science Options, Arts and Humanities, Computer Science and Information Technology, Engineering Science, Medical and Health Science, Natural Science options, Social work and social, Economics and Water engineering/ Analysis.
The Application criteria and the Provisions covered by the scholarship are listed below:
- Applicants for the Undergraduate must not be more than 25 years of age;
those for the Postgraduate Master’s must not be above 35 years of age
and not more than 40 years for Ph.D. applicants.
- Upload a study plan or research proposal minimum of 500 words for
postgraduate students only
- Interested applicants must use the Ministry of Technical and Higher
Education (MTHE) website (www.mthe.gov.sl) to apply
- One page typed motivation letter.
- Completed application form with all academic and other supporting documents should be submitted to the Ministry’s website on or before Friday 18th November 2022.
- Medical certificate mandatory only for the applicants nominated.
Provisions covered by the scholarship
- Tuition fees
- Monthly stipend: Monthly amount of HUF 43,700 (cca EUR 120)
contribution to the living expenses in Hungary for 12 months a year, until the completion of studies
- Accommodation contribution
- Medical insurance
Please bear in mind that these provisions above are only a contribution to the living expenses of the scholarship holders. It means that it does not fully cover all cost of living and students need to add their own financial resources in order to cover all living expenses in Hungary.
