The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, has officially announced the availability of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Scholarship Programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to a public notice issued by the Ministry, the scholarship opportunities are aimed at supporting Sierra Leoneans pursuing higher education and technical skills development at various academic levels.

The available programmes include the IsDB Master of Science Scholarship Programme, the IsDB Merit Scholarship Programme for PhD and Postdoctoral Research in High Technology, and the IsDB–Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development Scholarship Programme, which covers Bachelor’s Degree studies as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The Ministry has encouraged eligible and interested candidates to submit their applications online through the official IsDB Scholarship portal at www.isdb.org/scholarships.

Applicants are reminded that all required documents must be uploaded online no later than 31 January 2026. In addition to the online submission, candidates are also required to submit hard copies of their completed application forms and supporting documents by hand to the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education at New England Ville, Freetown, on or before the same date.

The Ministry further advised applicants to clearly label their submission envelopes with the inscription “Application for IsDB Scholarship Programmes”, along with the applicant’s full name, contact number, and email address.

The IsDB scholarship programmes form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen human capital development in Sierra Leone by providing access to quality education and advanced research opportunities in key development areas.
