The Government of Sierra Leone has issued its latest update on the Mpox outbreak across the country, reporting a cumulative total of 113 confirmed cases.

With ongoing efforts to combat the disease, the government has also shared updates on recoveries and new case developments.

As of the latest update, Sierra Leone has reported a total of 113 confirmed cases of Mpox. The country currently has 48 active cases, with one new case added in the update. Additionally, five more individuals have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 63. Sadly, there have been two deaths attributed to the virus.

The highest number of cases continues to be in the Western Urban area, with 84 confirmed cases, followed by the Western Rural area with 16. Other regions with notable case numbers include Tonkolili (3 cases) and Bombali (3 cases). Areas with fewer reported cases or none at all include Bonthe, Falaba, Koinadugu, and Pujehun

Out of the confirmed cases, 87 are male and 26 are female, showing that more men have been affected by the virus.

The Sierra Leone Government continues to work closely with health experts and local communities to reduce the spread of Mpox and ensure that more people recover from the virus. The Ministry of Health and Sanitation has encouraged the public to stay vigilant, follow health protocols, and report any new cases promptly.

While the country is making strides in controlling the outbreak, the situation remains a critical public health concern. Authorities are calling for ongoing cooperation and support from citizens to contain the disease and protect the vulnerable.
