Government Lifts Ban on Faith-Based Organization Registration and Renewal

The Ministry of Social Welfare (MoSW) has lifted the temporary ban on the registration and renewal of Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), allowing them to resume operations with immediate effect.

The decision follows the ministry’s ongoing review of the Policy on Religious Tolerance, aimed at strengthening religious harmony and social cohesion in the country. The suspension, initially imposed as part of policy reassessment, had restricted FBOs from formal registration and renewal processes.
