Government of Sierra Leone to Reportedly Begin Giving Financial Loans to Students
Fayia Junior Moseray The Government of Sierra Leone has in a news Release dated 23rd February 2023 informed Sierra Leoneans that funds are now available for the Students Loan Scheme.
According to the news release, the long-awaited Students Loan Scheme will be piloted among students in tertiary institutions by the Sierra Leone Students Loan Scheme Secretariat (SLOAN-SL).
The SLOAN-SL is expected to provide financial loans for less privileged Sierra Leonean students pursuing courses in institutions accredited by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC).
The release further stated that, an application processing fee of NSLL 250 would be paid to access the Students Loan Scheme online application PINs.
The payment for the online application forms can be made at any Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) Branch in Sierra Leone or online at bitps://pins loan. sl from 24 February to the 15th of March 2023.
The Student Loan Scheme will cover only students doing Masters and PhD programs; female students are strongly encouraged to apply.
