Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, a leading presidential aspirant of the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC), has issued an Easter message calling for a Sierra Leone that is healed, united, and built on the foundations of peace and justice.
In a statement released on Easter Sunday, Bangura extended greetings to all Sierra Leoneans and his party comrades, expressing hope that the Resurrection would fill homes and the APC with renewed energy and purpose.
“Today, we pray for a nation that is Healed, United, and Built on the foundations of peace and justice,” Bangura said.
The aspirant’s message comes at a time of heightened political tension in the country, with the APC continuing its boycott of governance processes over electoral disputes. Bangura’s call for unity and healing also follows recent inflammatory political rhetoric, including a ruling party official’s remark that the APC should be “killed.”
Bangura, who has declared his intention to contest the APC’s presidential nomination ahead of the 2028 elections, did not directly address the ongoing political impasse but emphasised themes of renewal and national cohesion.
“May the hope of the Resurrection fill your homes and our party with renewed energy and purpose,” he said.
