The Ministry of Youth Affairs has announced that the Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, has departed the country for the United States to participate in the ECOSOC Youth Forum.
The high-level forum, organized under the United Nations Economic and Social Council, brings together young leaders, policymakers, and development partners from around the world to discuss solutions to pressing global challenges and promote youth inclusion in sustainable development.
According to the Ministry, Minister Sannoh’s participation reflects the Government of Sierra Leone’s commitment to placing young people at the center of national development. During the forum, he is expected to engage with international stakeholders, showcase Sierra Leone’s progress in youth development, and advocate for stronger global partnerships.
The Ministry highlighted several anticipated benefits from the engagement, including increased opportunities for scholarships and skills development, improved youth-focused policies through global best practices, stronger representation of Sierra Leonean youth on the international stage, and enhanced resource mobilization to support employment, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion.
Officials emphasized that the visit is aimed at securing tangible outcomes that will positively impact young people across the country, reinforcing the government’s pledge to empower and inspire the nation’s youth.
