The Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) has formally informed the All People’s Congress (APC) Party of an upcoming engagement with a visiting delegation of International Moral Guarantors, as part of ongoing efforts to advance the implementation of the Agreement for National Unity and the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee report.

In a letter dated 7th April 2026 and addressed to the Secretary General of the APC at the party’s Old Railway Line office in Brookfields, Freetown, the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion outlined details of the forthcoming mission scheduled to take place from 13th to 17th April 2026.

According to the communication, the visiting delegation will undertake a follow-up assessment on the status of implementation of both the “Unity Agreement” and the Tripartite Committee recommendations, which were designed to strengthen national cohesion and consolidate democratic governance in Sierra Leone.

The mission will be jointly led by former Gambian Vice President and senior regional stateswoman Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, alongside the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, working through the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), supported by technical experts from relevant partner institutions.

As part of their in-country engagements, the delegation is expected to hold consultations with key political actors and stakeholders. These meetings aim to develop a practical roadmap and monitoring framework for tracking the implementation of both the Unity Agreement and the Tripartite Committee report.

In this regard, the ICPNC has requested a formal meeting between the delegation and the leadership of the All People’s Congress, scheduled for Tuesday, 14th April 2026, at the party’s headquarters. The engagement is expected to run from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Commission emphasized that the discussions will focus on critical issues relating to peacebuilding, national cohesion, and the sustained implementation of agreed political reforms aimed at promoting stability in Sierra Leone.

The ICPNC further expressed optimism that the consultations will be constructive and contribute meaningfully to strengthening dialogue and cooperation among political stakeholders in the country.
