The Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone, is marking a major milestone in its illustrious history as it celebrates 45 years of academic excellence, innovation, and national service.

The anniversary celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, 5th November 2025, under the inspiring theme “The Strategic Repositioning, Rebranding and Transformation of the College.”

The celebration marks a moment of pride and reflection for the institute, which has played a vital role in shaping public administration, business leadership, and management education in Sierra Leone and beyond.

Over the past four and a half decades, IPAM has evolved into a hub of academic and professional development, producing graduates who continue to make meaningful contributions to both the public and private sectors.

As part of the day’s activities, a flag-hoisting ceremony will take place at 9:00 a.m. on the main campus at Tower Hill, Freetown, symbolizing unity, identity, and institutional pride.

This will be followed by a symposium at the Freetown City Council Hall on Wallace Johnson Street at 10:30 a.m., where distinguished guests, faculty members, students, and alumni will reflect on the college’s legacy and discuss strategies for its continued transformation.

The IPAM administration has extended a warm invitation to all faculty, administrative staff, and students to actively participate in the celebration, emphasizing that their presence is crucial to the success of the event.

Deans of Faculties and Heads of Departments have been requested to nominate 100 students each to attend the symposium, ensuring strong representation across the college’s academic disciplines. Attendees are reminded to observe the black-and-white dress code, reflecting formality, elegance, and the shared identity of the IPAM community.

Speaking ahead of the anniversary, the university administration described the event as a turning point in IPAM’s journey toward modernization and global competitiveness. The theme, “The Strategic Repositioning, Rebranding and Transformation of the College,” underscores the institution’s renewed commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth.

As IPAM celebrates this 45-year milestone, the university community and its partners look forward to the next chapter one defined by visionary leadership, academic distinction, and continued contribution to national development.
