Ishmael Mohamed Kebbey has been appointed as the Government of Sierra Leone’s Director of Marampa Mines Limited.
The new role is deemed a crucial step in Kebbey’s career, following his previous position as Director General of Sierra Leone Cable Limited, a role he held since his appointment by President Julius Maada Bio in 2018.
Kebbey, a highly skilled IT specialist, brings over fifteen years of experience to his new position. His expertise is expected to be helpful in overseeing operations at Marampa Mines, one of the largest iron ore mines in Sierra Leone and globally.
The Marampa Mines Limited is located in Lunsar Town, Port Loko District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone and boasts estimated reserves of 1 billion tonnes of ore, grading 32% iron metal.
The mining site serves as a crucial income generating source for the local community and the West African nation.
