The Julius Maada Bio Women’s Wing and Associates (JMB) has on Saturday 26th March, 2022, embarked on fundraising for President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) ahead of the 2023 elections.
The event that attracted members, supporters, and friends of the SLPP took place at the Bintumani International Conference Centre, Aberdeen in Freetown.
Explaining the rationale of the event, the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio said it was meant to appreciate the unique and dynamic leadership being provided by the SLPP Presidential Candidate.
She celebrated her husband’s women’s empowerment credentials noting that she is a typical example and beneficiary of the support women receive from His Excellency.
“I am so proud to have a selfless and supportive husband like President Bio,” she said.
“We are here today to raise funds for President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and the SLPP for the 2023 general elections,” she disclosed.
The First Lady underscored that President Bio has many friends who believe in him and his leadership and are willing to give their millions and billions of Leones to make sure that things happen.
She disclosed that the JMB Associates have raised five billion Leones from people who believe in the President and the SLPP.
“Our target is to raise one billion Leones in any event organised by the JMB Members,” she revealed, noting that they need a lot of money for the 2023 general elections.
Mrs. Fatima Bio informed that the fundraising is part of their contributions to President Bio and the party.
In his appreciation statement, H.E Dr. Julius Maada Bio expressed appreciation to the JMB Associates for their efforts and support given to him and also for ensuring that the party have money for the 2023 general elections.
President Bio assured that he will continue to provide quality leadership to his party and the people of Sierra Leone, while calling on all supporters and sympathizers of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) to give their support towards the development of the party.
At the end of the event, JMB women and Associates were able to raise over one billion leones in pledges for President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and the SLPP party.
