The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Friday, 20th February 2025, joined hundreds of Muslim faithful at the Pujehun Central Mosque for the first Juma’at prayer in the holy month of Ramadan.

His presence at the congregational prayer reflected the deep spiritual importance he attaches to Ramadan, a sacred period observed by Muslims worldwide as a time of reflection, sacrifice, charity, and renewed devotion to faith.

Upon his arrival in Pujehun District, the Vice President was accorded a Quarter Guard mounted by the 14th Infantry Battalion, signalling the importance of his visit. He later proceeded to the mosque ahead of the khutbah (friday sermon), where he exchanged warm greetings with elders, community leaders, and young worshippers before taking his place among the congregation.

As the Imam (leader of the mosque) delivered a sermon centered on patience, unity, and compassion, virtues that define Ramadan, the Vice President joined the congreagtion in prayer, observing the solemnity that accompanies the first Friday of the fasting month.

In brief remarks following the prayer, he encouraged citizens to embrace peace, tolerance, and charity throughout Ramadan. He urged Sierra Leoneans to use the holy month to strengthen family bonds, extend support to the less privileged, and pray for continued stability and national development.

The Vice President also called on the jammah to remember His Excellency Julius Maada Bio in their prayers, seeking divine guidance and wisdom for the country’s leadership.

His participation in the first Juma’at prayer of Ramadan in Pujehun underscored both his personal commitment to faith and his continued engagement with grassroots communities, reinforcing the spirit of unity and collective purpose that characterises the holy month.
