Kenema City residents gathered in a heartfelt farewell ceremony at the “Peace and Unity Hall” in the Youths and Development (YAD) center to bid farewell to Deputy Superintendent of Police (D/SP) Ibraham Dikisu Kamara, their esteemed Divisional Operations Officer.

Having served the police force for 38 years, with 8 years and 8 months dedicated to Kenema, Kamara left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the community.

Government officials, community leaders, and fellow police officers attended the event, expressing gratitude for Kamara’s exceptional leadership, professionalism, and commitment to community safety. Heartfelt speeches were delivered by notable figures, including Regional Police Commander East Andrew M. Kamara, District Council Chairman Kenema-Mohamed Amadu Sesay, and SLAJ Chairperson – East Madam Victoria Bernard, praising Kamara’s tireless efforts.

As a token of appreciation, Kamara received gifts from various community units, reflecting the recognition of his outstanding contributions. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Moriba Koroma, known as “Agbao,” dressed him in a special regalia, acknowledging his dedication to the force and the people of Kenema City.

Amidst tears and emotional goodbyes, Kamara bid farewell to his colleagues, expressing gratitude for their support throughout his career. He introduced his successor, Inspector Mohamed Corneh, and expressed confidence in the police force’s ability to maintain safety in Kenema Division.

The farewell ceremony culminated in a lively send-off party, marking the end of an era and celebrating Kamara’s impactful legacy in Kenema City.
