The Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Kenema Division, Emmanuel Kpulun, has reassured residents of sustained security efforts, emphasizing the Sierra Leone Police’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
Speaking during a live radio discussion on Kambio Agriculture Radio 92.5 FM, Chief Superintendent Kpulun stated that since taking office, he has worked with divisional commanders and officers to increase police visibility across communities in Kenema.
He noted that the strategy is aimed at deterring criminal activity while rebuilding public trust and strengthening collaboration between the police and residents.
Kpulun highlighted that security remains a collective responsibility, calling on community members, institutions, and other stakeholders to actively support the efforts of the Sierra Leone Police.
He stressed that cooperation between citizens and law enforcement is essential for maintaining peace and stability.
During an interactive phone-in segment, several residents reportedly commended the improved security situation, pointing to increased patrols and the responsiveness of officers as positive developments.
Addressing concerns raised by callers, the LUC assured the public that the protection of informants is a priority, underscoring the importance of confidentiality and trust in effective policing.
In his closing remarks, Kpulun expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation of Kenema residents and encouraged them to remain vigilant and law-abiding.
