Joof was appointed vice president of the West African country in 2022. He is the fourth deputy to serve under Barrow since his historic win in 2016 against former strongman Yahya Jammeh and swearing-in the following year, and the second since the president won re-election in 2021.
The late vice president previously worked in the Gambian civil service and later in the World Bank as an Education Specialist for West and Central Africa, transmitting his experience there to his time as minister of higher education, research, science and technology.
May your soul rest in perfect peace
May your Soul rest in peace 🕊️
May your soul rest in perfect peace
May light perpetual continue to rest upon his gentle soul 🙏
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. But how comes this administration keeps loosing that many vice presidents? This might be worth looking into.
For Sierra Leone’s APC Party to merit being considered as a Party-in-Waiting, all elected functionaries at Head Office, branches, and chapters must appoint INTERIM CARETAKER OFFICERS, prepare and submit HANDING-OVER-NOTES; then resign , never again to hold office because they are confirmed disappointing failures who contributed to the Party’s current demise! Sierra Leone with fully paid-up APC members deserve good officers. Note that I have not used the word better because current officers are not good – mismanagement and maladministration continue to be appalling!
