A major multi-purpose complex being built in Lungi by Turkish construction firm FB Group is nearing completion, with the potential to boost Sierra Leone’s profile as a regional and international event destination.
The project will include Presidential Villas, a Presidential Conference Hall, a banquet hall, a dedicated media and press facility, a 1,500-seat auditorium, a five-star hotel, a recreational plaza, and a suite of modern amenities aimed at attracting conferences, diplomatic gatherings, and high-profile cultural and business events.
The Conference Centre will significantly improve Sierra Leone’s ability to host regional and international conferences, boost tourism, attract investment, and contribute to increased passenger traffic at Lungi International Airport.
Officials say the complex is part of a larger national vision to transform Sierra Leone through strategic infrastructure investments. Beyond the immediate benefits of tourism and business travel, the Conference Centre is envisioned as a long-term legacy asset that will strengthen the country’s role in regional and continental affairs.
Once completed, the facility aims to establish Sierra Leone as a premier West African destination for meetings, summits, and cultural exchanges, while also supporting broader development goals.
