In a significant boost to education, Hon. Beatrice Maya Kangbia Macavoray has donated school supplies valued at over Fifty Thousand New Leones (Le 50,000) or Fifty Million Old Leones (Le 50,000,000) to top-performing students from Tikonko Chiefdom.

The donation, made on Thursday, October 24, was directed at students who excelled in the recent National Primary School Examination (NPSE).

The event, held in Tikonko Chiefdom, Bo District, was attended by community leaders, including Paramount Chief P.C. Professor Joe Kangbai Macavoray, officials from the Ministry of Education, and the Coordinator of Free Quality Education. Local educators, parents, and students gathered to celebrate the gesture aimed at rewarding academic excellence and promoting educational growth in the region.

In her speech, Hon. Beatrice Kangbia emphasized the critical role of education in fostering societal progress. “Education is the foundation upon which a society builds its future,” she said, underscoring the transformative power of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering social unity. She also praised President Julius Maada Bio’s administration for its strides in education and highlighted initiatives like the Feed Salone project aimed at improving food security.
