His Worship Magistrate Samuel James Braima of Magistrate’s Court No. 2, in Bo City, has remanded hip-hop artist Alhaji Amadu Bah, popularly known as LAJ, and Ibrahim Koroma, also known as Prezo Koroma, at the Bo Correctional Centre on allegations of Cyberbullying and Insulting Conduct.

The accused persons, now Defendants, were arraigned on three-count charges of cyberbullying and insulting conduct, contrary to Sections 44(1)(b) and 44(2) of the Cyber Security and Crime Act, 2021.

According to the particulars of offence, LAJ and Prezo Koroma, on 21st March 2026 in Bo City, Southern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, allegedly caused a video to be circulated on social media through a computer system with the intent to insult the complainant and cause him unnecessary anxiety.

The prosecution further alleged that LAJ referred to the Mayor of Kenema City, Thomas Baio, as a “bastard child.”

During their initial court appearance, both Defendants failed to appear, prompting the issuance of a Bench Warrant upon an application by counsel for the Complainant.

In today’s hearing, Defence Counsel, Madieu Sesay Esq. raised preliminary objections, stating that the particulars of offence for the three counts are at variance with the Statements of Offence. He added that the Defendants were not personally served as provided for by the Criminal Procedure Act 2024.

In his response, the Prosecution lead Counsel, Monya Sheriff Esq, told the Court that the Preliminary objections raised by the Defence Counsel were out of Order. He went on to state that the information is properly before the court relying on the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Act 2024.

After their submissions, Magistrate S.J. Braima withdrew the file for ruling and ordered for the remand of both Defendants pending the determination of the objections.

The matter has been adjourned to 8th April 2026.
