Police are searching for Sulaiman Jalloh, who is accused of attacking Mohamed Lamarana Barrie with a knife around midnight on Thursday, June 5, in Deep Eye Water.
The attack happened in the Fanna community along the Waterloo Highway. According to reports, Jalloh allegedly broke into Barrie’s room while he was sleeping and cut his throat with a sharp knife. Some described the attack as extremely brutal, comparing it to the slaughtering of livestock.
Barrie survived and is now receiving medical treatment. His condition has not been shared publicly. The motive behind the attack is still unknown.
Jalloh ran away from the scene and has not been found. Police have launched a manhunt and are offering a NLe 10,000 reward for any information that leads to his arrest.
