Gambian Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda has congratulated Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr for her re-election as Mayor of Freetown.
The Gambian Mayor Posted on his Facebook page “Congratulations Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, a resounding victory well deserved. You are a rare talent that your Country needs, I’m glad they recognize it. I look forward to more years of collaboration and your regional leadership at the sub-national level”

The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) announced Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), as the winner of the 2023 Freetown City Council elections. Aki-Sawyerr emerged as the victor, defeating her main rival, Mohamed ‘Gento’ Kamara, candidate of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
