MediaMix Express has honoured Memunatu Suma, the Best Graduating Student in Public Relations and Marketing Communication for the 2024/2025 academic year at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
The company, known for its work in research-driven storytelling and strategic communication, presented Suma with a sponsorship package of NLe 10,000 and a three-month paid internship, underscoring its commitment to supporting young professionals entering Sierra Leone’s communications sector.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, MediaMix Express CEO, Tanu Jalloh, described Suma’s accomplishment as both a personal point of pride and a significant contribution to the industry’s future.
“I have known, worked with and mentored Memunatu over the years,” he said. “Her achievement is not just a celebration of academic excellence, it reflects the kind of talent our media and development sectors urgently need.”

He added that the company is committed to equipping emerging communicators with practical experience in research, digital media, strategic storytelling and impact-driven communication. Jalloh further revealed that the award and internship will now become an annual feature in the organisation’s calendar as part of its broader goal to build a dynamic and socially responsible communications ecosystem in Sierra Leone.
A lecturer in Public Relations and Marketing Communication at FBC, Jalloh emphasised that MediaMix Express remains dedicated to capacity building and long-term industry growth.
In a telephone interview following her graduation, Suma expressed deep appreciation for the recognition and support.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude and honoured to be named Best Graduating Student for the 2024/2025 academic year,” she said. “This achievement is even more meaningful because of the incredible support and investment from MediaMix Express.”
She described the NLe 10,000 sponsorship and the upcoming three-month paid internship as “a true launchpad” for her professional journey, adding that she looks forward to contributing to Sierra Leone’s expanding communications landscape.
