Sierra Leone’s Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, Julius Daniel Matai, has arrived in Abuja to participate in the Third Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit.
The summit brings together governments and industry leaders to discuss and advocate for African nations to leverage their abundant natural resources to foster economic growth, combat climate change, and alleviate poverty.
The conference commences today, 16th July 2024, at the State House Conference Centre, Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria. Minister Matai is accompanied by Dr. John D. Cooper, Director of Policy and Research at the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources.
The Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) is one of Africa’s premier events for developing the energy and natural resource sector.
Minister Matai will participate in a ministerial roundtable discussion today on the topic “Sustainable Development of Africa’s Natural Resources”.
This discussion will provide a platform for sharing experiences on transformative actions and initiatives aimed at achieving the sustainable development of Africa’s natural resources and leveraging these resources for economic development.
Dr. Oladele Henry Alake, the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Federal Republic of Nigeria, will serve as Chair of the Programme.
