Popular Journalist Thomas Dixon has revealed that the Information Minister Chernor Bah has confirmed to him that Government of President Julius Maada Bio is in conversation with several PR and Lobbying Institutions in the US but that it has nothing to do with the elections rather to leverage Sierra Leone Position as UN Security Council Member.
According to Journalist Dixon, The Minister denied that money has been paid to anyone but stress that Government is just having a conversation with them.
The Information Minister clarification came against the backdrop of government of Sierra Leone engage the services of Mercury Public Affairs, a New York based public strategy firm to mend its relationship with the United States Government.
Mercury announced on Tuesday that Sierra Leone government has reached out to them, and they are negotiating to represent the West African nation in a pact that is expected to include PR, government relations and outreach to US officials and media outlets.
Engaging a lobbying institution, especially in the US, is not a bad thing but good for us. Others do the same. Even big companies do the same thing all year round in the US.
