24 former ministers of the erstwhile All Peoples Congress (APC) government has reportedly endorsed Samura Kamara for the party’s flagbearer position in a meeting held at the party’s headquarters in Freetown, on Monday 30 January 2023.
Samura Kamara and over 15 others are vying for the position of APC’s flagbearer. One of them will be elected in the party’s convention to represent them in the June’s 2023 general elections.
However, it seems the former presidential candidates of the APC is in pole position to lead the party in the forthcoming elections, as over 24 former ministers in the former president, Ernest Bai Koroma’s administration has endorsed him as flagbearer.
Samura Kamara contested in the 2018 presidential election and lose in the second rounds on voting to ruling SLPP’s Julius Maada Bio. The lost has however does not deter his political ambition as he has been making moves ever since, which has made him become the most popular presidential candidate for APC in June 2023 elections.
