The Ministry of Health and Sanitation has been provided with 230 solar refrigeration units and 2 new vehicles by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), according to the Minister of Health and Sanitation, Austin Demby.
This assistance is expected to enhance the ministry’s effectiveness in carrying out their duties.
The Minister has expressed his staff’s commitment to ensuring zero vaccine preventable deaths in Sierra Leone, in line with his transformational health platform aimed at modernizing the country and expanding routine vaccination plans.
In addition, the Minister has met with the leadership of the Sierra Leone Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) and acknowledged the graduates who presented their work at this year’s EIS conference, marking a significant milestone in the development of the country’s health system.
