The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, in conjunction with the National Tourist Board in a press release has threatened to close several beach bars for failing to meet criteria of operation with immediate effect.
According to the press release, there has been a longstanding non-compliance regarding the payment of beachfront fees for the years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 for some certain Business places.
The release stated that despite multiple invoices and reminders, certain operators have neglected to fulfil their statutory obligations.
“Consequently, we hereby announce that these defaulters are required to cease all operations immediately,”
It is imperative that all entities adhere to regulatory requirements for the integrity and sustainability of our tourism sector.
The release also appreciate the cooperation of compliant operators and reiterate the Ministry commitment to fostering a fair and equitable environment within the tourism industry.
