The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has wrapped up a two-day intensive training programme for data enumerators in preparation for the nationwide feasibility assessment of the proposed Sierra Leone Community-Driven Development Project (SLCDD III).
The initiative is funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) with counterpart support from the Government of Sierra Leone.
The training brought together participants from NaCSA Headquarters and district offices, offering a structured and practical learning experience aimed at strengthening field readiness. Enumerators will be deployed across seven targeted districts: Bo, Bonthe, Pujehun, Kenema, Kailahun, Falaba, and Kambia.
During the opening ceremony, NaCSA’s Regional Coordinator for the South, Md. Aminata Vandi, underscored the importance of the feasibility assessment in informing evidence-based project planning. She stated that accurate data collection will play a central role in shaping the next phase of community-driven development interventions.
Again the programme Manager for SLCDD II, Momoh Juanah, outlined the objectives of the assessment and highlighted the anticipated impact the project will have on rural communities. Senior Directors and NaCSA Board Chairman, Mr. Mohamed Alie, also addressed participants, commending their dedication and emphasizing the significance of reliable field data in designing effective national development programmes.
The monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, Deen Tarawally, led a detailed session on data accuracy, offering practical guidance on the effective use of the assessment tools and survey instruments.
All the enumerators received hands-on instruction covering ground rules, ethical standards, quality assurance, and data collection techniques and also group exercises further enhanced understanding and ensured consistency across teams.

With the training now concluded, enumerators are set for deployment to their respective districts to commence fieldwork. The two-day preparation has equipped them with the essential knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to carry out the assessment with professionalism and precision.
The exercise marks a significant milestone in the implementation of SLCDD II, underscoring NaCSA’s commitment to transparency, community engagement, and inclusive development across Sierra Leone.
