The Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, and Board Chairperson Jenneh Jabati were sworn in Friday as trustees in Freetown, formalising their roles in the institution’s governance structure.

The ceremony was held at NASSIT headquarters on 32 Walpole Street and marked the official assumption of their responsibilities as members of the Trust’s Board of Trustees, according to the institution.

Solicitor General and Secretary to the Law Officers’ Department Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah, administered the oath of office, which was witnessed by members of the NASSIT Board.

Both officials pledged to uphold the provisions of the NASSIT Act No. 5 of 2001 and committed to carrying out their duties with integrity, accountability, and transparency in managing the Trust.

According to NASSIT, the development is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, enhance oversight, and improve service delivery within public institutions.

The ceremony concluded with a call for staff of the Trust to support the new leadership as it undertakes its mandate to advance efficiency and institutional reform.
