The Chairman of the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) Board of authority, Sorie Fofana has on an exclusive interview assured the issuance of the multi-purpose voter identification cards this December.
Speaking at the New City Hall in Freetown on Sunday, 4th December, 2022 the Chairman of the NCRA (National Civil Registration Authority) Board of Authority, Sorie Fofana, assured that the Authority will this month start the issuance of securitized multi-purpose Identity Cards nationwide. He said the exact start-date will be announced by the ‘appropriate authority’.
According to Mr. Fofana, after several years, this is the first time that NCRA will start issuing securitized ID cards to nationals, non-nationals and ECOWAS.
The NCRA Chairman insisted that the contractors (Constrat Systems SL Limited) are ready to start work in earnest. He praised the company for their preparedness to deliver a first-class service to the nation.
Speaking on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the New City Hall in Freetown, Sorie Fofana, the Chairman of the NCRA (National Civil Registration Authority) Board of Authority, promised that the Authority will begin issuing securitized multi-purpose Identity Cards this month across the country. He stated that the “relevant authority” will reveal the precise start date.
After several years, Mr. Fofana claims that this is the first occasion on which NCRA will begin providing securitized ID cards to citizens, foreigners, and members of ECOWAS. The contractors, Constract Systems SL Limited, are prepared to begin work in earnest, according to the NCRA Chairman. He commended the business for being ready to provide the country with top-notch service.
He made it clear that the fees for the various types of ID cards must be paid and have been approved by Parliament. The National ID cards issued to citizens of Sierra Leone have a five-year lifespan.
Mr. Fofana praised the NCRA director general and team for a job well done and urged them to keep up the good work so that they may continue to make the President proud and Sierra Leoneans proud.
