The National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) has stated the National Identification Number (NIN) registration for students and pupils in the Western Area Urban is administered at Kingtom Police Mess, where as NIN application from other members of the general public is administered at the NCRA Headquarters, 2 Walpole Street, Freetown.
NCRA gave this directives on a public notice issued today, Friday 14 October 2022.
According to NCRA, following the Public Notice from the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) linking registration for Public Exams to NIN as well as NIN being a requirement for enlistment into the Public Service, they have instituted the following measures:
- NIN for all pupils and students in Western Area Urban is administered at the Kingtom Police Mess. Where there is need for referral, the Applicants/ Pupils will be advised appropriately.
- NIN for Applicants from other members of the Public is administered at the NCRA Headquarters, 2 Walpole Street, Freetown.
- NCRA Offices across the country remain open to the public for all CRVS and other related identity services.
NCRA further noted that the public will be informed about any changes that may be made in respect of NIN administration.
“In the meantime, the NCRA wishes to state that all those who have registered with the Authority already have NIN on their Registration Slips that were issued to them either during Registration or Confirmation exercise,” the Authority stated.
“The Authority further wishes to encourage the general public, Parents, Guardians, Pupils/ Students and other candidates for public service recruitment to continue to exercise patience and cooperate with the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) in the administration of CRVS and Identity Management services across the country,” NCRA added.
