One of Sierra Leone’s strongest female politicians, Honorable Neneh Lebbie has been elevated by her peers to take one of the Leadership positions in the current Parliament.
Honourable Lebbie is now in the seat of Deputy Whip of Parliament having replaced the previous holder of that position, Honourable Ibrahim Tawa Conteh who is now the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
Until her latest elevation, she was the President of the Female Caucus of Parliament leading all female MPs.
Hon. Lebbie represents Bo District in the Southern Region of Sierra Leone. She is a well trained, professional School Teacher who is a role model in her community
and beyond. As a teacher and a role model, she has a passion for her people which is the reason why she established herself as a very strong advocate for issues affecting people in her Constituency and now, in her District.
With the call of her people, she has successfully run for a Parliamentary seat and been elected four times to serve as a Member of Parliament under the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).
Her meaningful contributions she made in the house of Parliament during her previous terms as a woman with substance, humility and a dignified manner of doing things that most men can’t do, her peers decided that she must be the one to succeed Hon. Tawa Conteh as Deputy Whip. Honourable Nenneh Lebbie has identified Women’s Empowerment, Pipe-borne water and improved Road network as major community needs that she advocates on.
As Deputy Whip in Parliament, she is now a part of the Leadership in Parliament. She also seats on the Business Committee, Human Rights Committee, Committee On Basic Secondary Education, Supervisory Committee, Committee On Fisheries & Marine Resources amongst other important positions.
