The National Medical Supplies Agency (NMSA) has launched a joint investigation with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) into the reported disappearance of portable ultrasound machines during distribution to health facilities across the country.

In a press release issued on March 18, 2026, the Agency confirmed that it has submitted all relevant staff involved in the distribution chain—from the central warehouse to beneficiary health facilities—to support the ongoing probe.

NMSA Management stated that any staff found culpable in actions that undermine the delivery of quality healthcare services will face the full force of the law.

The Agency, which is mandated to procure, warehouse, and distribute drugs and medical supplies to government health facilities nationwide, reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity.

“The Agency assures the public that the matter is being treated with utmost urgency,” the statement read. “Efforts are underway to ensure a swift investigation, recovery of the missing equipment, and delivery to the intended health facilities to support improved healthcare outcomes.”

Further details about the number of missing machines or the specific facilities affected were not disclosed.
