The Administration Department of the National Revenue Authority (NRA) has commenced the distribution of 50 Honda XR 150 motorbikes to its Operational and Support Departments.

The official distribution exercise took place on July 14, 2025, at the Customs House in Cline Town, marking a major step toward improving mobility, field operations, and service delivery across the institution.

The deployment of the motorbikes is aimed at enhancing the NRA’s efficiency in tax administration, border monitoring, and field support services.

Ten (10) motorbikes were distributed to the Customs Services Department, Eleven (11) to the Domestic Tax Department, Six (6) to the Non-Tax Revenue Department, and the remaining Twenty-three (23) were distributed among the support services departments.

The Director of Administration, Mrs. Fredricka M. Kella, expressed that the initiative aims to enhance mobility and improve the effectiveness of NRA operations, allowing officers to conduct inspections and enforce tax compliance.

During the distribution at customs, the Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Richard H. Senesie, stated that the bikes will be assigned to customs staff stationed at various Border Crossing points. He further underscored the Authority’s commitment to modernizing border management and facilitating trade while ensuring compliance with existing laws.

while thanking the Commissioner General for her astute leadership, the Assistant Commissioner for Border Controls and Management, John B. Amara, noted that the procurement of the motorbikes is expected to significantly reduce response time for customs officers, enabling them to better monitor cross-border activities and tackle smuggling and other illicit trade practices.

Mr. Amara highlighted that this initiative not only promotes efficiency but also enhances the safety of customs staff, who often navigate challenging terrains and remote areas.
