The National Revenue Authority (NRA) and the National Communications Authority (NatCA) has issued a Public  Notice informing all stakeholders, including Mobile Network Operators (MNOS), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Television Station Operators, and Radio Station Operators, that there are outstanding revenue obligations owed to the Government of Sierra Leone. This notice serves as an urgent reminder to address these liabilities promptly.

According to the Public Notice, the NRA and NatCA will jointly undertake enforcement actions to ensure compliance. These actions are aimed at recovering the outstanding revenues and maintaining the integrity of the revenue collection system. The specific enforcement actions that may be implemented include, but are not limited to, the following measures:

  1. Sealing of Business Premises: Non-compliant operators may find their business premises sealed, effectively halting all operations until the outstanding liabilities are settled.

  2. Garnishment of Accounts: The NRA and NatCA may initiate garnishment procedures on the bank accounts of operators who fail to meet their financial obligations.

  3. Restriction on Travel Outside the Country: Operators and their key executives may face travel restrictions, preventing them from leaving the country until the outstanding revenues are paid in full.

They strongly advise all operators within these sectors to take immediate action to settle their liabilities. Non-compliance will not only result in the aforementioned enforcement actions but may also lead to further legal consequences as stipulated under the NRA Act of 2022.
