“The Hon. Minkailu Mansaray, Hon Chernoh M. Bah & myself were able to secure the release of 30 innocent boys from police custody. They were Detained in respect of August 10 riots. Police were cooperative & professional. We move.”
It could be recalled that after the August 10 anti-government protests, President Julius Maada Bio and supporters of the ruling SLPP government blamed the main opposition, APC as perpetrators and investigators of the violent protests that led to the loss of lives and property. Officials from the opposition however strongly denied the accusations levied against them and their party.
Over 23 people including police officers were killed in the violent protests, and hundreds of arrests were made afterwards.
