The Parliament of Sierra Leone is calling for further public participation as it reviews the “Constitution of Sierra Leone (Amendment) Act, 2025.”
In an official notice released on Monday, February 16, the Director of Legislative Services, M. Deen-Rogers, confirmed that the government has already received a significant number of “position papers” from various institutions, private organizations, and individual citizens.
The initial request for feedback was issued on February 3, 2026. While Parliament expressed gratitude for the submissions received thus far, officials emphasized that the window remains open for those who have not yet shared their views.

“Parliament continues to invite all stakeholders who are yet to submit position papers to do so in a bid to enrich and broaden the participatory space,” the statement read, framing the request as a matter of “civic duty.”
The legislative body is seeking to ensure a wide range of perspectives are considered before the 2025 Amendment Act is finalized. The notice was copied to key high-ranking officials, including the Speaker of Parliament, the Opposition Leader, and the Attorney General.
Citizens and organizations looking to submit their views or request more information have been directed to contact the Legislative Services Department via the parliamentary email or official mobile lines.
