People with Disabilities (PWDs) descended upon the NaCSA headquarters this morning and confronted officials on the Social Safety Net (SSN) payment. Jimmy Batilo Songa, Deputy Commissioner, handled the situation calmly with his alertness and care.
D.C. Batilo Songa agreed to go with them to meet with Professor Keifala Kallon, the governor of the Sierra Leonean central bank, who warned PWD representatives about the nation’s ongoing liquidation. Board Chairman P. C. Foday Musa and the Senior Director of the National Social Protection Secretariat are in the bank governor’s entourage. Professor Kallon also promised to include other banking institutions in order to hasten the resolution of their issues.
Jimmy Batilo Songa encouraged the PWDs at the Cotton Tree to communicate their complaints through the office rather than taking the law into their own hands following the meeting with the spokesmen of PWDs at the Bank Governor’s office. The Deputy Commissioner’s mentality is what is necessary for someone who wishes to bring happiness to their people.
Crying over spilled milk serves no useful purpose; instead, one should adopt an optimistic outlook and believe that there is hope for the future.
Handling picketing with calm and psychological dexterity was what Songs did with PWDs. Kudos.
Hope others in authority will learn from Jimmy’s experience
