The SierraLeone Police has approved a nationwide pre-convention election sensitisation tour by the opposition All Peoples Congress (APC).
The approval follows a request from the party leadership ahead of internal party activities. Police headquarters issued the clearance on 12 December 2025.
According to the police letter, the Internal Elections Management Committee of the APC received authorisation to hold meetings across the country. The tour runs from 15 December 2025 to 4 January 2026.
The schedule covers all districts and the Western Area. Meetings start in Kambia, Port Loko, and Karene on 15 and 16 December. The tour continues through Falaba, Koinadugu, Bombali, Tonkolili, Kono, Kailahun, and Kenema.
Bo, Pujehun, Bonthe, and Moyamba host meetings between 28 and 30 December. The Western Area Urban meeting takes place on 3 January 2026. Western Area Rural follows on 4 January.

All meetings hold at APC party offices. Police set specific times for each district. The earliest meetings begin at 10 am. The latest starts at 3 pm.
Police stressed the clearance applies only to meetings. The approval excludes processions, rallies, and jogging activities.
The police reminded organisers to comply with the Public Order Act of 1965 and the Road Traffic Regulations of 2007. The letter also bans the use of marshals.
The APC must liaise with regional police commanders in each area. Senior police officers received responsibility to coordinate security arrangements throughout the tour.
The Inspector General of Police assured cooperation from the police force. The letter directed all relevant units to take note and act accordingly.
The development comes as political parties prepare for internal processes ahead of the 2028 national elections.
