The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) have apprehended the Deputy Vice Chancellor at the Earnest Bai Koroma University in Makeni, George Adms, Moses Kargbo and Saidu Kargbo respectively.

The Police Regional Commander-North, Commander Aiah Edward Samadia revealed that, the arrests are linked to their alleged involvement in the attempted coup on the 26th November, 2023.

Giving more information on the matter, he said George Adms, a key suspect in the coup attempt, had been on the run until SLP personnel successfully tracked him down to Makeni.

According to him, he was discovered hiding under a PVC roof at the residence of the Deputy Vice Chancellor of EBK University who fell through the roof during the capture and was subsequently apprehended, along with the university official and the caretaker.

He added that they are currently under investigation at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters.

Over the drug offences, he disclosed that, the Police have intensified their raids and search in the fight against the Kush in Makeni as they currently have 32 youths detained for their involvement in activities related to Kush at various motor parks, adding that, the SLP has been actively engaging with communities in Makeni to address the issue of Kush.

He committed to have the safety of the people and their properties as a priority in making sure that, they rollout a perfect community policing at all times.
