Dear Madam, First Lady Fatima Bio
I am writing this letter with a deep sense of regret and humility to extend my sincerest apologies for the disrespectful and inappropriate remarks made by Hawa Hunt, a current participant in the House of Stars reality show. Her comments directed at His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio, and Your Excellency were not only offensive but also utterly unacceptable.
As someone who values decency and respect, I was deeply disheartened by her words, which in no way reflect the sentiments of the many Sierra Leoneans who hold both the President and the First Lady in high esteem. Public figures such as you have dedicated time and effort to the betterment of our beloved country, and such remarks undermine the respect and dignity your positions deserve.
While I cannot undo the harm caused by her statements, I want to unequivocally condemn her behaviour. There is no justification for using language that is demeaning to anyone, let alone the First Family. I have also taken it upon myself to speak with her to help her understand the gravity of her actions and the importance of offering respect, especially in public discourse.
Your Excellency, I humbly appeal to your sense of compassion and motherly love to consider forgiving Hawa Hunt. As a young woman, she still has a lot to learn about communication and responsibility, and I am hopeful that this incident will serve as a valuable lesson for her to grow and do better in the future.
Once again, I offer my deepest apologies for the offense caused and assure you of my commitment to promoting respectful dialogue, particularly among the youth.
Thank you for your understanding and I pray for continued wisdom and strength as you fulfil your duties as the mother of our nation.
Yours respectfully,
Osman Bendu
AKA Mamy Thomas.
