Earlier today news broke about musician Iqbal Rahim aka Capii Ty reportedly passed away.
His hit song ‘Pot Coba’ was dedicated to the Sierra Leone National Football Team, Leone Stars and was the tune of celebration during the country’s African Cup of Nations campaign in Cameroon this year.
“The “pot coba” movement would like to congratulate the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars, on the bravery they demonstrated at the African Cup of Nations, after their 25 years absence. Their display at the tournament has brought so much joy to Sierra Leoneans and we hope to continue in the unity we’ve shared in the past weeks,” Rahim posted on his social media page after Leone Stars was eliminated from the tournament.
Blogging page, Salone Gossip reported that, “In January, he reached out to us to promote his song “Pot Coba” which we did. And he was very humble and respectful with the way he thanked us. Today he is no more. We want to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and friends. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Iqbal Rahim sleep on beloved.”
A friend of the deceased, Emris Momodu Banda commented that, “Capirific.. We grew up together and attended the same school (POW). Never a dull moment with you bro..
