The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has announced power outages affecting several communities in the Western Area this evening.
According to EDSA, a sudden power surge on the 33kV network distribution lines caused blackouts in Wilberforce, Regent, Lumley, and Goderich.
The good news for residents is that EDSA has identified the fault and plans to begin repairs and maintenance in the early hours of Saturday, August 10th. This should restore power supply to the affected communities.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this unexpected outage,” stated EDSA in a public notice. They thanked customers for their patience and understanding as they work to restore power.
For updates or to report further issues, residents can call EDSA at 672 or reach out to them on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/EDSASalone.
