President Bio Pardons Over 352 Prisoners on 2023 New Year Day

Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio has pardoned three hundred and fifty- two (352) inmates in accordance with Ss 40 (4) (e) and 63 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone Act No. 6.

Of the three hundred and fifty- two (352) pardoned, eleven (11) are female. The list also includes popular Hip Hop Rapper, Alhaji Amadu Bah “Boss La”.

The Acting Director General of the Correctional Service, Colonel Shiekh Sulaiman Massaquoi says those who willingly returned to the Correctional Center in Freetown after the November 26th prison break and are without what he referred to as major crimes were given preference to be pardoned.

Thank you H.E President Bio. That's good news for the inmates hope they have gone through orientation of law and order. All the crimes that lead them to prison will not repeat itself again. It lesson for all everyone to respect the rule of law (Constitution).
