Today, President Julius Maada Bio met with a team of young innovators from the Kamara Yokie Innovation Center.
They are preparing to represent Sierra Leone at this year’s VEX Robotics Competition in Texas, USA.
Kamara Yokie, who leads the Innovation Center, was also present at the meeting. She joined the team as they spoke with the President about their journey and plans for the competition.

President Bio said he was inspired by the students’ determination and encouraged them to keep following their dreams. He wished them success and told them to make Sierra Leone proud.
The team will take part in a global robotics competition, where students from many countries will compete.

As they get ready to travel, the young team says they are excited and proud to represent Sierra Leone on the world stage.
