The Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Milton Margai Technical University Professor Philip John Kanu has engaged Students at the University Main Campus in Goderich on the global raising cost of fuel and the negative impact on the World’s economy.
As those students are ambassadors of various communities in the country, Professor Kanu deems it fit to educate them about the global economic trend.
“We must bear in mind that the world is in a serious global crisis due to the Ukrainian-Russia war which the world never expected so as a learning Institution we must educate students on how the war has destroyed so many businesses in the world”.
Professor Kanu further explained to Students about the Government of President Bio’s strong financial intervention by helping oil importers with huge subsidies to curtail raising the cost of fuel in the country as bigger nations are being faced with serious fuel catastrophe.
In addition, he urged students to take the vital information to their various Communities as this has nothing to do with Politics and President Bio is not responsible for the growing cost of fuel in Sierra Leone.
Indeed, Professor Philip John Kanu has sent a clear message that other tertiary institutions should emulate this, and engage their students to help raise National Awareness of the present global fuel saga, and its ripple effect on the world economy which Sierra Leone is not an exemption.
