Rev. James Boye Caulker has over the weekend won the contest for position of Bishop of the United Methodist Church (UMC) of Sierra Leone.
The four days delegates conference was held at Trebes Memorial UMC Church Messima Section, in Bo City, Southern Sierra Leone to elect a successor for the late Bishop Yambasu.
There were 517 delegates for the national delegates conference.
Rev. James Boye Caulker received 246 votes, emerging him as the winner, Rev. Prof. Edwin J.J. Momoh came second with 214 votes, whiles Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Pewa came third with 54 votes.
Rev. Francis Charley declined to contest in the election shortly after he was nominated at the UMC Conference in Bo.
The episcopal nomination vote results are as follow;
1. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Pewa: 54 votes.
2. Rev. Prof Edwin J.J. Momoh: 214 votes.
3. Rev. James Boye Caulker: 246
4. Rev. Charley – Declined
