The 2018 presidential aspirant of the All People’s Congress, Dr.Samura Kamara has addressed youths on the topic “The role of young people in nation building”.
The program was organized by a formidable and reputable youth group called 1xTrend attracted thousands of youth from all walks of life.
Dr. Samura starts by saying, youth in any society are the engine of growth and development because they provide the labour force for production of goods and services to gain competitive advantage.
He furthered that young people are reservoirs of talent and therefore , he will tap into those talents. He went further to state that, today there is no country at the moment that’s politically charged than Sierra Leone.
Dr. Samura Kamara assured the youth constellation that he will definitely not let them down and encouraged them to maintain the spirit of hope and faith as they will “never walk alone” and also not to despair. Youths, he said: “should believe in themselves and ensure they Build Back Sierra Leone as change makers”.
He went further to elucidated on the role of young people as vital in the development of the country – a duty they must and should perform for the benefit of Sierra Leone. Youth he said are movers and shakers of development.
Dr. Samura Kamara added that the youth are bedrocks and backbones of a nation and also have the propensity to change the dynamics of new paradigm shift in society.
As he noted “Youths are the nation’s strength, hope, and reserve; their resilience, enthusiasm, and capabilities support the body politics of our country”.
Dr Samura Kamara pointed out to the audience of young people that they are part of a sensitive age group that pursue their dreams and promote important social changes.
It is no gainsaying that the development of our country is fully dependent on the abilities of the youths.
Therefore, the power of our youth must and should be positively utilized in all facets, be it health, education, technology, business, trade, etc.
