In an hour-long “QNET VCON” Media Webinar held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, seasoned journalists from Sierra Leone and Ghana delved into their firsthand experiences and insights into QNET. The webinar aimed to explore QNET through the eyes of these respected media professionals.
The discussions kicked off with the Regional General Manager of QNET for Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, shedding light on the company’s endeavors in Sierra Leone. Emphasizing the brand’s efforts to combat scams and enhance relations with stakeholders, governmental agencies, and security entities, the RGM also touched upon QNET’s social responsibility initiatives.
At the core of the conversation were the shared experiences of journalists who had witnessed the grand 25th Anniversary Ceremony of QNET in Malaysia during the VCON event in 2023.
One of the attending journalists, Amin Kef (Ranger), Editor of The Calabash Newspaper in Sierra Leone, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share his revelations about QNET and VCON. His initial skepticism, colored by negative media reports, was gradually dispelled during his immersive experience at VCON in Malaysia.
Amin highlighted his journey from skepticism to conviction, noting how witnessing QNET’s headquarters, understanding its business model, meeting the genuine faces behind the brand, and experiencing their products firsthand changed his perception. He candidly acknowledged his earlier misconceptions rooted in negative media coverage and detailed how direct interaction with QNET officials and experiencing their operations dismantled these preconceived notions.
Sharing his investigative journey that began in 2017 while probing a fraud case related to QNET in Sierra Leone, Amin candidly discussed the evolution of his perception of the brand. He acknowledged the pivotal role played by interactions with QNET’s PR Agency, leading to a more nuanced understanding of the challenges and authenticity of the brand.
His attendance at VCON provided a paradigm shift, allowing him to witness the enormity of the event with over 15,000 attendees. Amin emphasized the significance of ‘Seeing is Believing’ but also stressed that belief transcends mere visual confirmation, involving trust, understanding, and interpretation.
During his visit to Malaysia, Amin had the chance to explore QNET’s diverse departments, witness product exhibitions, and engage in discussions with top QNET officials. He praised the company’s proactive approach in addressing misconceptions through media engagement and plans to collaborate with security agencies to curb misrepresentations.
Adding a personal touch, Amin shared his fond memories of exploring Malaysia, its culture, and savoring the experiences beyond the conference halls.
The webinar also featured insights from Samuel Bio, Night Editor at Daily Graphic in Ghana, who echoed Amin’s sentiments about the transformative experience at VCON and the remarkable science behind QNET’s products.
Biram Fall, QNET Sub-Saharan African Regional General Manager, shed light on the company’s operations in Sierra Leone, emphasizing ongoing initiatives in public education and combating scams. Fall urged the public to utilize QNET’s Compliance Hotline for inquiries or to report irregularities.
A vote of thanks was extended to all that participated, wrapping up the enlightening session that offered a deeper understanding of QNET through the lens of seasoned journalists.
