Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, has suggested the possibility of Sierra Leone introducing a passenger train to facilitate the transportation of people and goods.
He voiced this sentiment during the international engagement together with President Julius Maada Bio.
Sengeh is part of Sierra Leone’s delegation who are currently in the United States for the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).
Recalling their recent engagement in Washington DC which ended with town hall meeting with President Bio, Sengeh said that. “During this upcoming UNGA78, I’ll have a hectic schedule. Pardon me, my friends, who I won’t be able to see.”
He maintained that one day, not too far a distance Sierra Leone might get a passenger train up and running. “One day (insay wi yone active lifetime) wi go get passenger train back na salone, you believe?”
By God’s power it shall come to past
Amen!
I am very impressed with this Chief Minister. The guy is smart, eloquent, energetic, patriotic, and yet still very humble. Good job, President Bio, in choosing this guy for that position. Salone go beteh ma!

Lae e lef for lie nor. A train system say even just from Freetown to either Bo or Makeni or Kenema, just one of those, will cost hundreds upon hundreds of mllions of US dollars. It wil never be profitable, not enough travellers and in our poor country, you can’t charge much. We don’t have a government that can afford to run a railway at a loss. Just concentrate on putting in a great road system in the country including feeder roads so we can efficiently farm upline and take produce to big cities easy. Lae e lef for tok nonsense for mek ensef look good.
