“The bloody coup attempt in Sierra Leone on November 26th, 2023, was a devastating and heartbreaking incident. Today, we mourn the brave soldiers, police officers, and other security personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. The children, wives, and families of these fallen heroes should not be mourning today – this should never have happened,” emphasized Dr. Sengeh.
Despite the somber circumstances, Dr. Sengeh highlighted the commitment of the government to ensuring justice for the victims. He echoed the words of President Bio, emphasizing the determination that justice would prevail in the aftermath of this tragic event. The nation stands united in grief, rallying behind the leadership’s commitment to accountability and resolution.
As Sierra Leone grapples with the aftermath of the coup attempt, Dr. Sengeh’s words serve as a poignant reminder of the human cost of such political upheaval. The mourning families, communities, and the nation at large find solace in the assurance that the government is resolute in its pursuit of justice, seeking to honor the sacrifices made by these fallen heroes.
The memory of those who lost their lives will forever be etched in the collective conscience of Sierra Leone, as the nation looks towards healing and rebuilding in the wake of this tragic incident.
RIP to the fallen patriots. Big loss to the country, the families and to humanity! Here are some suggestions to the people of Sierra Leone. a) The government must set up a Trust Fund for the spouses and children of these fallen patriots. b) The housing, medical and educational needs of the children up to the tertially level must be catered for, to demonstrate to all that these patriots did not die in vain. c). The legislature must set November 26 as remembrance day for all that have lost their precious lives in defence of the country. If all agree, please indicate so in subsequent postings. RIP again.
